Biography:

Angelo Gaspar got his master’s degree in Sociology at the Department of Sociology and Social Work of the Mississippi State University (2007). His former employment was as staff member at the Ministry of Labour, Environment and Technology, and at the Community Development Fund (Ministery of Regional Development).

Before his employment as a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities he also lectured part-time at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the AdeKUS, and the AHKCO. His expertise is in Research Philosophy and Methodology.

Till 2024 he was chair of the Examination Commission of the faculty. Currently he chairs the Education Commission and is in process of developing a new master program in Cultural Science at the faculty. His research interest is in Afro-Surinamese and the Islam in Suriname.

Research:

• Main interest: sustainable development and promotion of social well-being, social change, social justice, small entrepreneurship.

• Society and environment relations, environmental & social impact analyses, (renewable) energy.
