GANGARAM-PANDAY, Shonimá MSc.

Biography:

Shonimá Gangaram-Panday is a researcher and lecturer in the Psychology Department at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname.

Shonimá holds an MSc degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from the VU University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and is currently pursuing her doctoral research (PhD) at KU Leuven, Belgium. Her primary research interests include neurocognitive disorders and (neuro)psychological testing within culturally diverse populations. Additionally. Shonimá contributes to various research projects, offering her expertise in (neuro)psychology, psychometrics, and research methodology.

 

Research:
  • Screening for post-stroke neurocognitive disorders in diverse populations
  • Mental health (e.g., psychological disorders, coping) after brain injury (e.g., stroke, dementia)
  • Impact of scarcity on psychological wellbeing
  • Evaluation of psychometric properties of psychological tests
  • Subprojects from the HEARTS Initiative Suriname
