Biography:

Apollonia Gessel obtained her master’s degree in psychology, with a specialty in clinical psychology, at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. She became a full-time lecturer at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname in February 2026. Here, she teaches several courses in the bachelor’s program. Research interests include postpartum mental health and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT).
