Biography:

Dr. Subhash Goerdat is an Internist-Nephrologist and lecturer at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS). His work focuses on kidney diseases, hypertension, diabetes-related complications, chronic kidney disease prevention, and public health awareness.

He serves as the national coordinator of kidney transplantation in Suriname and plays a key role in advancing renal care and transplant-related healthcare initiatives. In addition to his clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Goerdat is deeply committed to public education, leading health awareness campaigns, producing educational videos, and engaging in community outreach programs aimed at improving early detection and prevention of kidney disease and metabolic disorders.

His academic and clinical interests include chronic kidney disease, diabetic nephropathy, hypertension, cardiovascular risk factors, metabolic disorders, preventive medicine, and kidney transplantation. He actively contributes to medical education and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration within the healthcare sector.

Through both academic and public platforms, Dr. Goerdat advocates for greater awareness of kidney health, diabetes, hypertension, lifestyle-related diseases, and preventive healthcare, striving to improve outcomes and empower communities in Suriname.
