Biography:

Donovan Isselt obtained his Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Psychology at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS), specializing in Work and Organizational Psychology. He was part of the first cohort of students in the bachelor’s program in Psychology, which started in 2010, and in January 2020 he became the first graduate of the master’s program in Psychology in Suriname.

In his current role as Human Resource Manager at the Regional Health Service Foundation (RGD), he applies his psychological expertise daily within the broad domain of human resource management, with particular focus on personnel policy, development, performance, and sustainable employability.

Alongside his work at the RGD, Donovan also serves as a lecturer and thesis supervisor at various educational institutions. From his professional and academic interests, he further focuses on themes such as emotional intelligence, mental health and workplace well-being, reintegration into work, employee care, burnout, positive psychology, and professional identity.

His ambition is to deepen his scientific expertise in these areas and, in time, to pursue a PhD trajectory.
