Jhinkoe Rai Gita
Biography:
Gita Jhinkoe Rai obtained her Master’s Degree in Development and Policy and Educational Sciences at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. She became a part-time lecturer at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname in October 2010 and a fulltime lecturer in February 2013. Before employment at the university, she had a career at the Research and Planning department of the Ministry of Education where she was responsible for data collection and analyses of internationally comparable education indicators. Currently, she is the Coordinator of the Bachelor’s program in Educational and Pedagogical Sciences where she aids in maintaining quality education and academic counseling of students and participates in several committees of the faculty. In addition, she lectures on Research Methods and Educational policy and planning. She has successfully completed the AdeKUS Teachers Professionalization in Education program (DPO) and Teachers Professionalization in Research program (DPR); training to develop didactic competencies and research skills). Her professional and research interests are centered around equal chances in education, students’ study choices, and educational management and innovation.
