Biography:

Kim Hagens did a master’s study in Applied Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics at Nicholls State University in Louisiana. Before moving back to Suriname, she worked as a senior instructor at the Louisiana State University (LSU).

In her current employment she teaches courses such as Calculus and Statistics and sits on the Examination Board of the university.

Her main research interests are in Operations Research and Statistics.

• Euclidean Steiner Trees: Compare the lengths of the shortest spanning trees and the shortest Steiner trees.
