Biography:

Mahalia Sno obtained her Master of Science degree at Anton de Kom University of Suriname and has been working as a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Humanities since March 2019.

She teaches the subjects Dutch in the World, Surinamese-Dutch, Language Skills II, Text Analysis and Presentation studies. She is currently the coordinator of the master’s program.

As part of the Teachers Professionalization in Research training program of AdeKUS (DPR), she conducted research into English (loan) words in written Surinamese Dutch and produced an academic paper on the subject. She is also very interested in the work of the Roman Catholic Church and is at the end of a study on the Framework of the Roman Catholic Diocese, which she will complete this year (2025).
