Orpheo Stanley Donk
Biography:
Orpheo Donk is a junior academic staff member at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname, Faculty of Humanities, Department of History, since 2021.
After getting his degree in History at the Advanced Teacher Training College (IOL), he worked as a teacher and lecturer for the Ministry of Education at various school levels. Before employment at AdeKUS, he lectured at the IOL.
In 2018, he finished the Master’s study in History from the Institute for Graduate Studies and Research (IGSR). Currently, he is conducting doctoral research on the nature of slavery in Suriname and Jamaica in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
He is also a member of the exam board of the faculty. His research specializes in the historiography of slavery in Suriname.
